St. Veronica School Safety Patrols

Be a helpful leader at our school and assist with afternoon dismissal.  This privilege for students in grades 4 - 8 requires a commitment several days a week after school.  Mandatory training is required prior to serving.  Quarterly meetings are held after school as well.  For interest in becoming a safety patrol contact Coach MAC  at mceh@stveronicaschool.org.

Latin Certamen

The certamen is a team competition much like It's Academic. Questions are based on Latin literature, mythology, grammar, history and culture. It's an intense competition that takes place in January.

St Veronica School has two teams, Latin 1-a level and Latin 1 level. They will go head-to-head against schools ranked nationally, including Thomas Jefferson High School. The judges of this competition are Latin teachers from around the region.

CHESS IS FUN! Research has shown that playing the game teaches responsibility, improves discipline and sharpens critical thinking and problem solving skills. Chess also builds confidence and improves academic and social skills!

We are pleased to announce our 5th year of providing students, grades 2 - 8, a unique and challenging opportunity to learn from local Chess Master, Greg Acholonu. From absolute beginners to those with experience in the game, Mr. Acholonu takes students on "the chess journey" teaching rules, strategy and etiquette of the game.

During the 2009-2010 academic school year, the club will meet for 2 semesters on Wednesdays, 6:00-7:00 p.m. at St. Veronica Catholic Church.

For more information contact Greg Acholonu at
