This week in Religion we talked about
making wrong choices (sin). We
emphasized that we always want to strive
to be bright images of God, and that we
can always ask for God’s forgiveness
when we do make wrong choices.
In Math we learned to identify sets
with more, less, most and fewest, and we
worked on equalizing sets by adding to
or taking away. We also worked on
numbers 0 to 4.
In Science and Social Studies we
talked about corn and about farms. We
learned that "maize" was very important
to the early settlers, and we talked
about all of the products that are made
from corn. We tasted a variety of corn
products, and made a graph of our
favorites. We compared the results, and
popcorn received the most votes.
In Language Arts we worked with the
sight word "come." We introduced the
short vowel sound of the letter Ii. We
read about farms, and learned that there
are farms that grow seaweed! Our
vocabulary words included tend, wobble,
and soggy. We also worked on writing
lists.
Thank you for all of the wonderful
book donations from the Book Fair. These
will make nice additions to our
classroom library and will enhance our
curriculum!
I enjoyed the chance to talk to all
of you at our conferences yesterday. I
am enjoying your children! Thank you for
sending them to St. Veronica School!
