Go,
therefore, and make disciples of all
nations… Teaching them to carry out
everything I have commanded you.
Matthew 27:19-20

The
mission of St. Veronica Catholic School
is to serve parents in their
responsibility of forming their children
in the life of the Gospel. That service,
known as Catholic education, must "pay
regard to the formation of the whole
person, so that all may attain their
eternal destiny and at the same time
promote the common good of society.
Children and young persons are therefore
to be cared for in such a way that their
physical, moral and intellectual talents
may develop in a harmonious manner, so
that they may attain a greater sense of
responsibility and a right use of
freedom, and be formed to take an active
part in social life."

St.
Veronica’s has a brand new $10 million
facility including a multimedia library,
science lab, and art room. Hot lunch is
currently available one day/week. St.
Veronica’s participates in the USDA milk
program. St. Veronica will offer a
daily hot lunch program in the 2008-2009
school year.

Investing
in education begins with investing in
outstanding teachers. St. Veronica is
committed to maintaining a high-quality
faculty and staff who are devoted to
Catholic education. See our
Faculty webpage to meet our Faculty and
Staff.

Following
Diocesan Guidelines for all subjects,
the K-8 curriculum will
emphasize the development of Catholic
faith, values, and attitudes as well as
the attainment of knowledge and skills
for spiritual, moral, intellectual,
social, emotional, and physical growth.
St. Veronica offers pre-Algebra and
Algebra to qualified students in

Curriculum areas consist of Religion,
Reading/Language Arts/Literature,
Mathematics/Algebra, English, Spelling,
Handwriting, Science, Social
Studies/History, Latin, Music, Art,
Physical Education, and Computer and
Library instruction. We offer full-day
Kindergarten.

Our
current class sizes range from 13 to 25
students. In 2008-2009 our school
will consist of two classes at each
grade level for K-5; one class of grades
6-8. Because individual attention
is a key factor in quality education,
the class size in Kindergarten is 25.
Grades K-2 have a teacher and an
instructional aide. Maximum class
size for grades 1-8 is 27.
Our
maximum enrollment will be 500 students,
consisting of two classes at each grade
level, Kindergarten through Grade 8.
Because individual attention is a key
factor in quality education, the
projected maximum class size will be
only 25 students in Kindergarten with
instructional aides and only 27 students
per class in grades 1 through 8.

Students
attend Mass as a school community weekly
on Fridays. Fifth through eighth
grade students also attend Mass on
Monday morning. First Friday
devotions and Lenten Stations of the
Cross are also observed. Our
Parish priests visit the classrooms
frequently and hear confessions weekly
from various grades.

The
newest Diocesan elementary school, St.
Veronica Catholic School is beginning
the multi-year accreditation process
this year.

Catholic
Schools , administered under the
authority of the Catholic Diocese of
Arlington, comply with those
constitutional and statutory provisions,
as may be specifically applicable to the
schools, which prohibit discrimination
on the basis of race, color, sex, age,
marital status, disability, national
origin, or citizenship in the
administration of their educational,
personnel, admissions, financial aid,
athletic and other school administered
programs.
This policy
does not preclude the existence of
single sex schools, nor does it conflict
with the priority given to Catholics for
admission as students. This policy also
does not preclude the ability of the
school to undertake and/or enforce
appropriate actions with respect to
students who advocate on school property
or at school functions any practices or
doctrines which are inconsistent with
the religious tenets of the Catholic
faith.
